Biography
Liz Joseph is an award-winning data scientist, educator, and founder whose work sits at the intersection of technology, learning, and social impact. She is currently based in Dublin and has held roles at Google, Facebook/Meta, Standard Bank, and Citi, while also building her own company, Circle Limited.
Her career is defined by using data and technology to solve complex problems at scale. At Meta, she led analytics work that helped cut operating costs by millions and was awarded the 'Women To Watch' award. At Standard Bank, she built technical and machine-learning solutions that reduced fraud risk and introduced new ways to explore data and was nominated for a beyond excellence award. She is also a founder and education advocate. Through earlier initiatives such as Cirble.org, she taught children and adults how to code and ran free AI classes for students, with a long-term goal of making education more accessible and relevant across Africa. She is studying at Harvard Graduate School of Education and has described herself as a teacher, data scientist, and changemaker, with a strong focus on education leadership and policy. Her background includes a computer science and AI degree from the University of Pretoria, and her work has earned recognition from the Queen’s Young Leaders distinction. Beyond her professional and academic work, she brings a creative, human side to her story. She writes children’s books about AI, enjoys song writing, singing, and salsa dancing, and sees creativity as part of how she communicates and builds impact.
